My month review of my Vrijheid Fonds for December 2018.
First of all, I hope everyone has enjoyed the most beautiful holiday season filled with quality time with the loved ones!
Another year has passed us by, so quickly I barely noticed. We all have made new memories and have experiences changes in one or another way. Indeed, 2018 has been an exciting year for me, with many ups and downs. If we take a look at the stock market last month we see that December 2018 was one of the worst Decembers in the history.
But before I do a year review it is time to report my dividend income again. Spreadsheet day is behind us and I can now start writing my favorite post, my dividend income! I hope this post inspires other people out there to start saving and investing as soon as they can. The power you feel knowing that you are richer than you were yesterday and you didn’t have to work a minute for it, is a wonderful feeling.
Dividend
In total I received € 465.28 ($ 532.05) in passive income in December. My Vrijheid Fonds had two dividend increases. McDonalds raised its dividend with 15% and Microsoft with 9.5% I really love this kind of increases.
If we take a closer look, the dividend was coming from:
- Royal Dutch Shell A (RDS) € 132.51 (Dripped 5 new shares)
- Unilever (UN) € 81.63 (Dripped 1 new share)
- 3M (MMM) € 9.09
- AFLAC (AFL) € 9.28
- Archer-Daniel-Midlands (ADM) € 10.21
- Chevron (CVX) € 29.97
- Coca Cola (KO) € 23.19
- Consolidated Edison (ED) € 12.76
- Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) € 29.97
- McDonalds (MCD) € 18.11
- Microsoft (MSFT) € 10.94
- Realty Income (O) € 19.67
- Southern Company (SO) € 22.30
- Target (TGT) € 33.30
- Rabobank Certificate € 22.34
YoY increase
That makes a total of € 465.28. This is an increase of 8.8% from last years December. Again an increase of my monthly dividend income. This feels really nice.

Vrijheid Fonds
If we take a look at my Vrijheid Fonds (Freedom Fund), you can see that due to my installed drip in RDS and UN the number of shares have risen.
My total portfolio value at the end of December is € 102,429, whichis a decrease of 4.65% over last month November (€ 107,422).This decrease is due to the dip in the stock market in December.
I again donated € 400 of fresh capital to my Vrijheid Fondsand I bought € 175 worth of mutual Funds for my “Safe-haven-sleep-well”part of myVrijheid Fonds. This time I bought the Mutual Fund: NN Europees Deelnemingen Fonds.
This month I made two new buys for my Vrijheid Fonds. I couldn’t resist these low prices after the nice dip in the stock market in December.
New Buys
First of all I averaged down on 3M Company and bought 6 new shares of MMM. For more information about this buy, just read my post Recent buy – 3M Company – December 2018.
And after this buy, I had still some money left and I also averaged down on AT&T. I have bought 55 shares of T. For more information about this buy, just read my post Recent buy – AT&T – December 2018.
Again this month I made a nice step in my journey.
In the coming days I will write my year-review, in which I will dive deeper in to the performance of my Vrijheid Fonds.

Because all figures I give are in Euro’s. Because the exchange rates is not constant (duh…) my passive income changes per month (even if the dividend stays the same). For the record: I only post my passive income from dividend the month I received it on my brokers account. And it is after taxes.
