Month review of my Vrijheid Fonds

Another month has passed and yes, I can update my spreadsheets again and review how the month of April was.

Month review

This is a blog post about my favorite topic, dividends!  I hope this post inspires other people out there to start saving and investing as soon as they can.  The power you feel knowing that you are richer than you were yesterday and you didn’t have to work a minute for it, is a wonderful feeling.

Dividend

In total I received €411.63 ($496.72) in passive income in April. My Vrijheid Fondshad four dividend increases this month! Ahold raised its dividend with 10.50%, Coca Cola with 5.40%, South32Ltd with 14,06% and finally Wal-Mart with 2.00%. Furthermore I received a special dividend for Franklin Resources. Just click on the company’s name to see more information about these increases. In total my Vrijheid Fonds has had already 9 dividend raises this year.

If we take a closer look, the dividend was coming from:

Ahold Delhaize (AD.AS) €222.77
Coca Cola (KO) €21.98
Franklin Resources (BEN) €8.10
Franklin Resources (BEN) €105.66 (special dividend)
General Electric (GE) €5.07
Realty Income (O) €18.55
South32LtD (SOUHY) €3.33
Vereit (VER) €9.69
Wal-Mart (WMT) €16.48

That makes a total of €411.63. This is a 45.78% increase from last years April. This big YoY increase is due to the special dividend I received from Franklin Resources. Removing that from the equation, I earned €282.36 last year vs. the €305.97 this year, a 8.36% growth from last year, which is still very nice ;-). It feels great when money is coming in that has worked for me!

Vrijheid Fonds

If we take a look at my Vrijheid Fonds (Freedom Fund), we can see it was a good month. As stated earlier, volatility is back. The markets have recovered from their downfall in February and March, and are now again running toward higher grounds. This had a positive effect on my Vrijheid Fonds.

My total portfolio value at the end of April is €92,832, which is an increase of 5.29% over last month (€88,166). I again donated € 400 of fresh capital to my Vrijheid Fonds and I bought € 370 worth of mutual Funds for my “Safe-haven-sleep-well”part of my Vrijheid Fonds.

In March of this year I received my first check (€270) from one of my side hustles (for more information, just take a look at my side hustle income report March 2018), woohoo!! And as I told you readers in my income report, I have put this extra money to good use. I used this money to fuel further growth of my Vrijheid Fonds! This extra fuel results in more than € 11 of extra dividend in 2018!

Again this month I made a nice step in my journey to financial independence.

How was your month? Did you receive more dividends than last year? I like to hear from you. Thanks for reading!

Cheers,

Pollie

Note:

Because all figures I give are in Euro’s. And because the exchange rates is not constant (duh…) my passive income changes per month (even if the dividend stays the same). For the record: I only post my passive income from dividend the month I received it on my brokers account. And it is after taxes.
