A dividend increase by Unilever
This week Unilever announced an 8% increase in its quarterly dividend. The dividend is raised from €0.3585 to €0.3872. The dividend pay date is June 6, 2018 to shareholders of record on May 4, 2018 (ex dividend May 3, 2018).
CEO Paul Polman:
“For the full year, we continue to expect underlying sales growth in the 3%–5% range and an improvement in underlying operating margin and cash flow that keep us on track for our 2020 goals. We intend to start a share buy-back programme of up to €6 billion in May to return the expected after-tax proceeds from the spreads disposal. We are raising the dividend by 8%, reflecting confidence in our outlook.”
Vrijheid Fonds
The new dividend amount represents an annualized dividend amount of €1.5488 per share, up from €1.4340. The dividend yield on current price is 3.41%.
My Vrijheid Fonds consist of 246 shares of Unilever, so in 2018 my passive income will increase by €18 (after taxes).
