A new post in the Dutch Dividend Bloggers series.
I have been working from home for 10 weeks now and I notice that my balance between work and private life is becoming increasingly blurred. My time to write blogs is regularly consumed by work or by helping my children with their homework. And, I never thought I’d say this, but I miss my daily train journey to work in which I normally had almost 45 minutes to make a first draft of a new blog post.
Here in The Netherlands we’ve an Intelligent Lockdown to flatten the curve. I understand and support the decisions and actions that are made and are taken, but they have been taking a toll on me. I must admit that I have gained some extra weight and I miss the office life.
But hey, I’m not complaining. We are all still healthy and safe over here. And that is the only thing that counts right now.
Stay Home, Stay Safe
So, with no further ado, here is my post about the Dutch Dividend Bloggers for April 2020.
April 2020
With my website and this post, I hope to inspire more people to start making passive income. By starting to make passive income, you will take control of your live. And with the pension discussion in the Netherlands, it is even more important to take control over your finances. Passive income gives you the freedom of time! I think that time is our greatest asset. In fact, time is far more valuable than money in my opinion.
When you let your money work for you (instead of you working for money) you will have the flexibility that comes along with not having to struggle to make ends meet at the end of the month. As long as you can ensure that your passive income outpaces your monthly expenses, you’re free to spend your time as you choose.
Co-production
Since the beginning of this year this series is a co-production together with De Kleine Kapitalist (DKK). He writes the Dutch version and, you guested it, I the English version. DKK is very handy with IT-stuff and with his web crawler he automatically collects all the data. This saves an enormous amount of time now that this process has been automated.
Thanks for all the positive feedback we got on this series! I really appreciate it! And if I look at my twitter feed (@twitter.com/Polliesdividend) I see a lot of people enjoy this Series. Keep sending me some love. And if you want to be included in this Series just sent an email to De Kleine Kapitalist (DKK) of Pollie@polliesdividend.com.
Passive income from the Dutch Dividend bloggers
Here is my April episode of the dividend Income from the Dutch Dividend Series. I’ve only included the bloggers that reported their dividend income on their website.
Financially in 10 years – € 93.89 – The dividend is still pouring in for MrRobot and no dividend cuts for him so far. He has an impressive YoY increase of 49,2%. Keep up the good work!
Financemonkey –Saska only publish her dividend income report after every quarter. So, no new figures here today. If you can read Dutch, don’t forget to visit here site
Veelvoorminder – €20.72 – His focus on stability and slowly growing his passive income stream. Most of his investment money is in ETF’s. This is his second month that his dividend income has crossed the € 20-euro mark. Keep up the good work! Slowly and steady wins the race and with a YoY increase of 38%, Veelvoorminder is doing great!
I want Dividend – € 471.04 – At the start of the year Erik expected to break his all-time high in monthly dividend income this month, but in reality, he scored below last year. He missed payment from 8 companies, but fortunately only 2 of these companies stopped paying their dividend. From 6 other companies he expects the payment in the next few months as they were not able to get the dividend approved as their shareholders meeting was delayed. The 471.04 is still very impressive. Way to go Erik!
Groeigeld – €128 – This € 128 represents a YoY increase of only 7%. This is mainly because a number of distributions have shifted slightly over time and because the new shares, he bought over the last year don’t pay that much in April. A YoY increase of 7% is still great and helps you a step closer to the goal. Just keep pumping in some extra fresh cash and stick to your plan.
De Kleine Kapitalist – € 42.45 – DKK received dividends from 8 companies. An increase of 55% and it is the second time in a row he crossed the €40-euro mark. Way to go! He biggest contributor is Royal Ahold Delhaize. A very familiar company for me . He is still pumping in extra cash to buy, so his YoY will definitely improve next year.
Dividendportfolio.nl – € 98.00 – Despite the COVID-19 crisis, he continues to buy shares every month. And he makes sure he has some money on hand to be able to buy shares when the market will tank again. He mentioned one company in particular. And yes, I also think this is a great company. So, let’s hope we both will be able to buy this great company for a bargain price really soon. In April he almost toughed the €100-mark and had an very impressive YoY increase of more than 300%. Great job!
Stashing Dutchman – Unfortunately, the stashing Dutchman hasn’t reported his dividend income for April 2020. So, no new figures for him. Hopefully he will be back in our May roundup.
ThinkingBig – € 9.82 – Almost 10 euros. Since his conversion to ETFs, the focus of dividend payments appears to have shifted to the third month of the quarter. In other months, TB is getting more through P2P lending platform Mintos. A stream of income from Crowdestate is also starting to emerge.
De Kleine Dividend Belegger – €7.47 – Welcome Stefan to the Dutch Dividend Blogger Series! Stefan just started blogging and has received dividends from 4 positions. This should have been more, but unfortunately a number of companies have reduced or even (temporarily) stopped their dividends due to the Corona crisis. Don’t worry Stefan, just stick to your plan and your snowball will get momentum soon.
Polliesdividend – € 284.37 – In total I received €284.37 ($311.23) in passive income in April. My Vrijheid Fonds had four dividend increases in April! Man, I feel rich, some extra money rolling in just by doing nothing. This is a great feeling. And with a steady 13.59% (adjusted for a dividend payment date shift) YoY increase, you will not hear me complaining. For more information about my passive income, just read my April report.
Finally
April, although being the first month of a new quarter, has been good month for the Dutch Dividend community. The markets have picked up since March and the dividend is rolling in. Luckily, I see a lot of YoY increases. The bad news, however, is that the dividend cuts are starting to leave their mark on our portfolio. But despite this all we see some great figures on which we can be proud!
And also, we have welcomed one new member to our Dutch Dividend Blogger. Our list is slowely getting longer.
We as Dutch Dividend Bloggers made € 1,155.76 in dividend!
Amazing! Hopefully May will be even better! And thanks everybody for your great posts. It was fun and inspiring to read all your dividend income reports. Man, we all can be very proud of our results! Keep adding new stocks to your portfolios and keep writing some amazing posts on your websites!
If you’re not included in the list above, just leave a comment below, and we (De Kleine Kapitalist and I) will include you in the next post.
How was your month? Have you receive more passive income than last year? I like to hear from you!
Cheers,
Pollie
