A dividend increase of AFLAC
On February 4th, AFLAC Incorporated (AFL) announced a 3.7% increase in its quarterly dividend. Aflac raised its dividend from $0.27 to $0.28. The dividend pay date is March 2, 2020 to shareholders of record on February 19, 2020 (ex-dividend February 18, 2020). This is the 38th Consecutive Annual Increase.
CEO Daniel P. Amos stated:
“We are pleased with the company’s overall performance for the year. Total pretax adjusted earnings increased 2.5%, which is particularly impressive considering our extensive investments to drive future earned premium growth, which will remain a critical strategic focus for 2020. I am pleased with the Board’s decision to increase the dividend, coming off our 37th consecutive year of dividend increases and a recognition of the stability of our earnings and capital generation. It also demonstrates our commitment to rewarding our shareholders.”
Vrijheid Fonds
The new dividend amount represents an annualized dividend amount of $1.12 per share, up from $1.08. At this moment the dividend yield on current price is 2.15%.
My Vrijheid Fonds consist of 48 shares of AFLAC, my annual dividends will increase by €1.48 ($1.63) after taxes.
My projected annual total amount (2020) from my shares of AFL will be €41.22 ($45.35) after taxes. This is my 9th dividend increase already in 2020 for my Vrijheid Fonds!!!
Although it is a small raise and I love it. It takes small steps to reach my goal. And this raise is such a small step. DGI at work!
Cheers,
Pollie
