My month review of my Vrijheid Fonds for January 2019
The first month of 2019 is already behind us. So it is time to tell you the status of my Vrijheid Fonds and report my passive income for this month. January traditionally is a slow dividend income month, but this time with a little nice surprise!
This is a blog post about my favorite topic, dividends! I hope this post inspires other people out there to start saving and investing as soon as they can. The power you feel knowing that you are richer than you were yesterday and you didn’t have to work a minute for it, is a wonderful feeling.
Dividend
In total I received € 121.21 ($ 138.75) in passive income in January. MyVrijheid Fonds had two dividend increases. Franklin Resources (BEN) raised its dividend with a whooping 13% and Realty Income with 0.2%. I really love this kind of increases.
And BHP Billiton has paid a special dividend. For more information, just read my post about the special dividend of BHP Billiton.
If we take a closer look, the dividend was coming from:
- Franklin Resources (BEN) € 20.47
- Realty Income (O) € 19.69
- Vereit (VER) € 10.21
- Walmart (WMT) € 17.38
- BHP Billiton (BBL) € 53.46 (Special Dividend)
YoY dividend income
That makes a total of € 121.21. This is an increase of 141.81% from last years January. This big YoY increase is of course due to the special dividend I have received from BHP Billiton (BBL). Removing that from the equation, I earned € 50.13 last year vs. the € 67.75 this year, a 35.16% growth from last year, which is still very nice ;-). It feels great when money is coming in that has worked for me!

Vrijheid Fonds
If we take a look at my Vrijheid Fonds (Freedom Fund), we can see that the value is way higher than last month. 
My total portfolio value at the end of January is €108.115 ($123.758), which is an increase of 5.55% over last month December (€ 102,429).
I again donated €400 of fresh capital to my Vrijheid Fonds and I bought €100 worth of mutual Funds for my “Safe-haven-sleep-well” part of my Vrijheid Fonds.
For a slow month, this was great month. Due to a rise in the market, the value of my Vrijheid Fonds has sky rocketed. And I got a nice special dividend which I love (What is not to love 
). So this month is again a nice step in my journey.

Note:
Because all figures I give are in Euro’s. Because the exchange rates is not constant (duh…) my passive income changes per month (even if the dividend stays the same). For the record: I only post my passive income from dividend the month I received it on my brokers account. And it is after taxes.
